Tweed Landcare Inc is currently involved with the following activities:

  • Meetings

Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 6.30pm at the CWA Hall, Queen Street, Murwillumbah. The meetings are an opportunity to keep up to date with TLI activities, hear interesting guest speakers and share your views. Please feel welcome to attend.

  • Information and Education

We hold Landcare displays at community events, workshops and field days, contribute articles to local media and promote awareness of biodiversity conservation through events like the Landcare Native Garden Open Day.

  • Sponsorship of Grant Applications

TLI was formed as an incorporated group in 1997 to promote Landcare in the Tweed Valley. Since then we have sponsored grant applications for many groups and individuals. If you need a sponsor organisation or help with your grant application come along to the monthly meeting or contact the committee.

  • Tweed Community Revegetation and Riparian Monitoring, Evaluation and Education Project – Review 2007

Tweed Landcare Inc. visited the network of groups and individual landholders in 2002-03 as part of initial M&E Project. Thank you for participating in this project designed to monitor and evaluate vegetation restoration works undertaken by 'care’ groups and landholders in the Tweed catchment.

Tweed Landcare Inc. has been successful in gaining funding from the Northern Rivers Catchment Management Authority to review the M&E Project in partnership with Tweed Shire Council. This review gives us the opportunity to once again collect information on what works the Tweed network has been undertaking since the original project. Information gathered will be useful to assess the needs of the network to achieve their goals and improve their outcomes.

  • On-ground Projects

There are a number of on-ground projects with which TLI is working throughout the Tweed Valley, either as a sponsor organisation for individuals and groups, a project partner or as the applicant. If you would like to become involved with any of these let us know.

  • Tweed River Committee

Tweed Landcare is representated on the Tweed River Committee (an advisory committee of Tweed Shire Council) to promote the Landcare ethic and develop project partnerships that will benefit biodiversity conservation in Tweed. Please contact us if you have any matters you would like put to River Committee Meetings.
